Summer Camp

A week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical teaching in the meeting room.

-Sir Robert Baden Powell (Founder of Scouting)

Boy Scout Resident Camp is the main event of any scouting year and where a Scout’s biggest memories will be made. Troop 110 attends Treasure Valley Scout Reservation in Rutland, MA annually. Scouts get the chance to stay overnight at camp for a week of the summer and work on merit badges and advancement, and more importantly, to experience the true meaning of Scouting and make new friendships that will last forever.

TVSR is a beautiful 1,600 acre woodland camp that offers over 70 miles of hiking/biking trails, a variety of eco-systems and wildlife habitats, and a nocturnal view of the solar system that will inspire the imagination. TVSR offers summer camp programs developmentally appropriate to boys ages 7 – 17 years as well as a venue for Scout troops and packs to practice outdoors what is learned in the weekly meetings. During the summer season, the camp offers a well supervised waterfront on Browning Pond where Scouts learn to swim, sail, canoe and fish. The camp hosts a variety of program areas each of which has been created for Scouts to learn Scout skills and to bolster their appreciation of the natural world. Ecology conservation, Leave No Trace, and cheerful service are but a part of the camp experience.

Treasure Valley Scout Reservation is accredited by the Boy Scouts of America – requirements aligned with the National Camp Accreditation. TVSR is licensed with health and safety permits from the towns of Spencer and Rutland and from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
